About
Meeting the need for high quality, dependable swim lessons.
Maine Splash Swim School was started by a mother/daughter team with a passion for making a positive impact on the community.
We know that the demand for swim lessons is high. We’ve seen the demand through long wait lists for lessons at local pools and frequent posts from parents in community group pages. Local pools cannot keep up with the demand. To make matters more challenging, local pools continue to struggle with staffing issues that require closing the pool frequently, often resulting in lesson cancellations. Existing staff are often stretched beyond their limits working many hours without enough rest, causing burnout and high turnover. The quality of lessons is often affected. This is what brought us to realize that we could make a bigger, positive impact by offering lessons differently!
Our Instructors
Amy brings 20+ years of experience in working with kids through roles in special education, summer camps, classrooms, and as an Aquatics Director training other Lifeguards and Swim Instructors. Amy started teaching swim lessons during her high school years and has many years of experience teaching children and adults. In addition, Amy has taught private lessons to children with special needs and was once trained as a Special Olympics swim coach. Many of Amy’s previous swim students love swimming so much that they have grown into competitive swimmers.
Kylie grew up swimming in lessons, club swim team, and four years of high school varsity swim team. Kylie has worked as a Lifeguard at different pools, has volunteered as a student coach for the middle school swim team, and has taught swim lessons on Chebeague Island for the past two summers. Kylie volunteers with the local fire department as a junior firefighter and is an EMT student. Kylie will be graduating high school this spring and will studying nursing at college this fall.
We look forward to working with you and your swimmer!
